Here are a few useful tips: -

Ensure your central heating boiler and heating appliances are serviced by a suitably qualified engineer.

Clear any rainwater goods of debris, autumn leaves etc.. to prevent water overflow.

Should your property be empty or heating system is off ensure that the central heating and water system is drained to avoid the possibility of burst pipes.

If you are away on holiday ensure your heating system is activated by a timer to prevent water freezing and causing a burst.

Ensure your water pipes, area around the boiler and loft have adequate insulation to prevent heat loss.

Should you be away during the holiday period leave a key with a trusted neighbour or relation who can access the property in case of emergency in order to assess damage and instigate repairs.
